Daily Reminders about the Return of Jesus
No one has ever been able to prove that the Bible is false in its content, but every born again believer has the personal assurance that it is true by his or her own faith and personal transformation. The true believer does not need scientific evidence of the integrity and validity of the Bible, by faith and experience he has received an inner knowing of the reality of every truth expounded within its pages.
One such truth that the believer relies on is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who entered the earth as a babe, died and was resurrected as  the Savior of the world, will return again as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS to set up His kingdom on earth. Moses prophesied in his victory song that the Lord would reign for ever and ever (Exodus 15:18). David declared it throughout the Psalms. John, in his Revelation, heard in the sequence of events of end times loud voices in heaven declaring, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever." (Revelation 11:15b)
Jesus, Himself, declared His return and taught His disciples about the signs to look for prior to His coming. Interspersed in various books of the Bible are happenings that will occur during the time before His return, commonly referred to as the Day of the Lord. Warnings are given concerning The Judgment, the Great Tribulation, which must occur before the millennial reign of King Jesus on earth. We are even told of events that will occur at the culmination of the thousand-year reign, when all evil, Satan, his fallen angels and all unbelievers will reach their final, horrible destination.
There will be divine intervention in the earth from God. There will be a time of judgment and cleansing of the earth and its people from all evil. There will be a thousand-year reign of Jesus on earth. It will happen and it could  begin to happen in our day. However, many events must take place in a short span of  time during the Great Tribulation, believed to be a seven-year period, before Christ’s millennial reign. We need to be informed about these happenings. Our eternal destiny is before us. Whether we are alive on earth when  it happens or whether we have preceded these events through death, it makes no difference. We will all be a part of it to one extent or another. When one is informed and prepared for what will take place, fear will be replaced by faith and the believer will look forward to and welcome the return of Jesus Christ. Great things are in store for the believer. If you are a believer, fully committed to Christ, may the truths on these pages create an urgency in you to reach others who are not. If you are not right with God, please wait no longer to call on His name to get right with Him. There will be a moment in time when it is too late.
Day 1     JESUS PROMISES TO RETURN
Jesus frequently talked to His disciples about things to come. They usually did not understand what He was telling them at that time, but when things actually happened, they were reminded that Jesus had told them it would and had tried to prepare them for it. It reminds me of my dentist who announces what he is about to do in my mouth before doing it. He even tells me it may hurt a little. This prepares me to accept and to be prepared for what is coming. Jesus told His disciples what would happen so they would have peace as they went through the painful events of His crucifixion that was about to take place and then the absence of Jesus from them. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
Before Jesus departed from the earth, He assured His disciples that they would one day be with Him again. This time it would be forever. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I  would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. (John 14:1-3)
An earlier time when Jesus was informing His disciples about the happenings of end times, He told them that He would rule over a kingdom on earth. "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. (Matthew 25:31)
The followers of Christ today still have the assurance that someday Jesus will return to earth to rule and reign in peace. If death comes before this happens, the believer will already be with Jesus forever but will still be involved in the return of Jesus, as we will see later.
Are you convinced that Jesus not only will return, but could return to earth in your day?
