Wise and the Foolish (Day 19)

Dawning of Wisdom Part 1 The Wise and the Foolish
Day 19Proverbs 1911  A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.
20  Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise.
27  Stop listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.
Patience is a derivative of wisdom and wisdom comes from listening to advice and accepting instruction.  A person who stops listening to instruction strays away from the knowledge that he needs to be wise and successful.
Life is a continual school of learning from which we never graduate.  A diploma in hand does not mean learning days are over.  It may mean the days of formal education are completed and hopefully, those years of education whetted the appetite to produce self motivation in continuing the learning process.
Some people learn by the school of hard knocks because they have quit listening to instruction.  What loss and needless pain they will encounter.
When a man’s wisdom produces enough patience, he will overlook an offense.  Overlooking an offense is one of the wisest things a person can do.  At least half of broken relationships must be caused by not overlooking an offense.  A Christian has as much responsibility to deal with being offended as the person has who caused the offense.  A wise person who overlooks an offense will be respected.
Wise:  listens to advice and instruction, develops patience, overlooks offenses
Foolish:  stops listening to instruction, does not have wisdom, lacks patience, not willing to overlook offenses
