Knowing Jesus as Lord (day 4)

Taken from The Dawning of Wisdom Part 1
"Knowing Jesus as Lord"
Day 4
Jesus said to some fisherman, "Come, follow me,... and I will make you fishers of men."
(Matthew 4:19 KJV)
Follow Jesus and become a fisher of men.
The result of following Jesus is that we become fishers of men. The command is to follow Him. If we follow Him, He will make us fishers of men. If we aren't fishing for the salvation of others, we may have taken a different path from following Him. His whole mission was to bring people into the kingdom of God. We might sing, "I have decided to follow Jesus", but have we caught anyone for the kingdom of God? A fisherman uses bait, has a strategy and goes to where there are fish. He has to be patient and know exactly what to do when he has one on the hook. So, too, in fishing for men, we need to learn how to be good fishermen.
Following Jesus is much more than receiving His blessings. It is patiently learning to fish for the hearts and souls of those God has put in our lives, that they might be saved.
Checklist 4
Am I truly following Jesus into places where I am fishing for souls for the kingdom of God? Or, am I saying, "Lord, I don't like to fish. I'm not always successful and I don't like the chance of bad weather. Let someone else fish."?
Am I willing to humble myself and let Jesus use me to tell others the Good News?
