Peace

Taken from The Dawning of Wisdom Part 2

Day 7    Peace
What a gift from our Lord! Christians have a different kind of peace from the world’s peace. The world’s peace comes from attainment: jobs, careers, success, the stock market, bank accounts, etc.. They strive for these things but after attaining them, they really don’t have peace because then they have to maintain them and that can be stressful as well. Our peace comes from Jesus. He is our peace... (Ephesians 2:14a) Our peace is not dependent on what we have or don’t have. It is a person, Jesus... And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6b) When we have Him in our lives we can walk in peace every day. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. (Colossians 3:15) We are not called to worry and anxiety, we can live in peace if we learn to cast our cares on Jesus. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7) ...God has called us to live in peace. (1 Corinthians 7:15b) God is not a God of disorder, but of peace. (1 Corinthians 14:33a) The Scriptures tell us over and over that God is our peace. It is ours if we do not let the enemy rob us of it. When we know what God’s word says about peace, we will seek it and pursue it....seek peace and pursue it. (Psalm 34:14b) We are informed, we have God’s word and even in trouble, we can keep our peace. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33) Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. (Psalm 119:165)
Peace from God is a gift and it is also a fruit of the Spirit. If it is a gift, we just receive it. If it is a fruit, it is a growth process. Either way, peace is to be cherished. The world’s peace is so fleeting. God’s peace in us should make the world take notice. Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. (1 Thessalonians 3:16)
Thank God for His gift of peace.
Thank Him for peace that sees you through difficult situations.
Tell Him how blessed you are to have His peace.
Ask for strength and faith to not let Satan rob you of your peace.
I WILL EXALT YOU, MY GOD THE KING; I WILL PRAISE YOUR NAME FOREVER AND EVER. (Ps.145:1)
