Day 25 HE IS OUR FRIEND
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. (John 15:13-15)
Jesus is the best Friend anyone could ever have. He never discourages us and He never gets tired of us. He reveals His heart to us and He understands our feelings. He has promoted those who do what He commands from being a servant to being a friend. He shares the mysteries of His kingdom with them. He is faithful and loyal to His friends and desires to spend time with them. He will never mistreat, push, coerce or intimidate His friends. He expects a reciprocal relationship and does not like it a little bit if His friends flirt with the world. He does not want His friends to be like an unfaithful wife, playing the harlot. You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.(James 4:4) His love for His friends is so pure and so deep that He gave His life for them. In return, He expects His friends to surrender their lives to Him. He gave His all that we might become His friends and if we do, we must give our all back to Him. It becomes a friendship like no other. It will lead to a wedding, the Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ, and His body, His friends. The wedding feast is by invitation and acceptance. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.) Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!'" And he added, "These are the true words of God." (Revelation 19:7-9)
