Day 14 His Presence
...for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (Hebrews 13:5b KJV)
It is one thing to know that God is always with us, but it is quite another thing to experience, or to sense, His presence. I was in the Christian ranks a long time before I heard anything about entering into His presence in a very special way. I will never forget the first time I was aware of His presence. We were visiting a church because we heard good things about it. They were having some kind of a children’s presentation and the minute I walked in the door, I sensed something was very different. There was something different about the Sunday School teachers, the children, the congregation - the whole atmosphere was different. I sensed the Spirit of God in that place. When one experiences God’s presence, he won’t be satisfied with anything less. When David repented over his sin, he wanted to be assured that God’s presence would not leave him. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. (Psalm 51:11-12 KJV)
There is joy and there is a free spirit in the presence of the Lord. ...in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. (Psalm 16:11b KJV)
God’s glory comes down. God reveals His righteousness. Man becomes aware of the greatness and sovereignty of God. He is humbled. No exaltation of flesh nor pride can remain in the presence of the Lord. The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory. (Psalm 97:5-6 KJV)
How do we get into this kind of presence of the Lord? Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. (Psalm 100:2 KJV)
We sing, we rejoice, we praise and worship Him. We pray, we meditate His word and we get quiet before Him. We wait. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. (Psalm 46:10)
Who can come into His presence? Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. (Psalm 24:3-4 KJV)
The righteous can come to the place of living in His presence. Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence. (Psalm 140:13 KJV)
The ultimate of His presence will be when we see Him face to face, but in the meanwhile, we can enjoy His presence here and now.Thank God that we can come into His presence.
Thank God that His presence can come to us.
Experience His presence now. (Be patient, have faith and worship Him in the privacy of your prayer closet)
LET US COME BEFORE HIS PRESENCE WITH THANKSGIVING, AND MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO HIM WITH PSALMS. FOR THE LORD IS A GREAT GOD, AND A GREAT KING ABOVE ALL GODS. (Ps. 95:2-3 KJV)
