Reap what you sow

REAP WHAT YOU SOW

(Taken from booklet Daily Promises, also in Dawning of Wisdom Part 1)

Day 11    Reap what you Sow

Galatians 6:7-8

"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.

The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life."

PROMISE:  A MAN REAPS WHAT HE SOWS.

CONDITION:  THE ONE WHO SOWS TO PLEASE HIS SINFUL NATURE WILL REAP DESTRUCTION.

THE ONE WHO SOWS TO PLEASE THE SPIRIT WILL REAP ETERNAL LIFE.

Some of God's promises bring good things, but also, some of them bring awful things. The difference is in which condition we fulfill. This scripture gives us not only a promise, but a spiritual law. It is a law as true as the law of gravity: sow to the sinful nature, reap destruction; sow to the Spirit of God, reap eternal life. Everyone can understand this law. It is plain to see! But yet, some, in fact, many, choose to sow to the sinful flesh. They enjoy the sins of the flesh and do not have the fear of God in them to believe that God means what He says. Because they don't see immediate destruction they think they can get away with it. Payday is coming! The pleasurable sins of the flesh are so temporary compared to  eternal life, it is not worth it! And besides, once a person has tasted the pleasure of knowing God, everything else seems as trash - empty, like throw-away stuff. As we start sowing to please the Holy Spirit and start reaping the rewards, we will want to sow more and more to Him and wonder why we ever did sow to the sinful nature. A crop that brings destruction is no comparison to one that brings an abundant harvest.
