From: Daily Thoughts for Praise and Thanksgiving
"For is is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God--(Ephesians 2:8) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Our salvation is the ultimate gift any of us could ever receive. It is the greatest miracle God has given to mankind. We cannot earn eternal life and we don't deserve it, yet because of God's great love and grace, we receive it through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Each of us has our own unique testimony of how God saved us out of darkness and brought us into the His family. Some come to Christ easily, having been born into a Christan home while others were truly rescued from the pit of hell. It doesn't matter from whence we come, we all received Jesus Christ into our hearts. Have you ever stopped to contemplate where you might be today and the kind of life you might be living if you had not received the gift of salvation? When we are truly aware of how lost we were without Jesus and how secure we are when He lives in our hearer's, praise and thanksgiving will spontaneously flow from our hearts and lips.
Praise and thank God for giving you His Son to die for you. Praise and thank Jesus for being willing to die for your sins. Tell God what your salvation means to you. Thank Him for bringing you into His family.
If you are reading this and have not received Jesus Christ into your heart, or you have slipped away from God since having received Him, then now is the time to ask God to forgive you and to ask Him to become the Lord of your life. "And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Acts 2:21)
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; Let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. (Psalms 95:1)
