Is God's love for me conditional?

It is natural for parents to love their children no matter if they are male or female, no matter how they are built or what they look like, no matter if they are smart or retarded-no matter what, parents just love their offspring. It doesn't matter how many children there are, there is enough love for every one of them. My grandparents had fourteen children and as far as I know, everyone was loved and cared for. Parent's love for every child as it arrives seems to be bottomless. In today's world where the value of family life has been tampered with, there are exceptions, but that is not the norm. Sometimes there is severe hurt in a parent/child relationship for one reason or another, but underneath the problem there is still a longing to have the relationship restored in love.

If our heavenly Father has given us as parents the quality to love our  children unconditionally, how much more is His love for His children unconditional. His very nature is love. The worst criminal or sinner cannot change God's nature. The problem is that some of us have not received His love and thus have not been adopted into the family of God.  His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into His own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us.and He did this because He wanted to.  (Ephesians 1:5 Living Bible) Those who have not received His love gift to us, Jesus Christ, cannot have this love relationship with Him or fellowship with God as their heavenly Father. In a sense, we all belong to God because He created each of us and He loves us all, but He only adopts into His family those who accept His love in the person of Jesus Christ. God's heart must ache because so many have not accepted His love gift. That is why our highest commission in life is to tell others about this wonderful family of God that they can become a part of by accepting Jesus Christ.

Answer:

Nothing in the whole wide world can separate you from the love of God except you, yourself. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus or Lord. (Romans 8:38-39) This love we are talking about is found in Christ Jesus or Lord. Only you can keep yourself from it. God loves you unconditionally, no matter who you are, where you have been or what you have done. As you come to Him, He will forgive you of your past. If you are not already in His family, He is waiting for you to become His adopted child.
