LOVE
Valentine's Day - a day to speak love
A heart, what is it a symbol of?
Candy, flowers and cards that say "I love you"
Girls hoping, boys daring, grown-ups involved too
A fun day to focus on those who are dear
Even though for some it may change next year
There is a love that is steadfast and never will fade
Not dependent on how good I am nor the mistakes I have made
It is a person who came from heaven above
To live life on earth and demonstrate His love
He lived what He preached and He preached there is hope
Life is far greater than something with which to cope
He is the light of the world, the truth and the way
To impart it to you with His life He did pay
This love is not cheap, nor fickle, and yet it is free
A gift from the Father given to you and to me
He is knocking at your heart's door and wants to come in
Won't you answer and let Him cleanse you from sin?
Love does not force or coerce in any way
He woos and ever so gently calls you each day
What is the heart a symbol of? A place inside
Where Jesus wants permission to come in and abide
If God is love and love you are looking for
Today is the day to open your heart's door
Happy Valentine's Day!
