Bee's Burden

This summer I was wandering around Rae Edlin's amazing garden looking for a bee.  I knew this would not be a difficult task since Rae's garden is full of flowers and lovely temptation's for bees of all sizes and shapes. I happened to notice a rather large bee fumbling about. I looked closer and noticed why it was struggling so. On both sides of the bee where these HUGE collections of pollen (saddles). This bee seemed clueless to the fact that it was "fully weighted down"

Is it me or does this bee look TIRED!!

This bee instantly reminded me of how I collect burdens throughout my day. I will find I have picked up another's burden without releasing it to God in pray, I have added more burden to my life with sin or feel burdened with the cares of this life etc.

I am reminerded of Psalms 55:22 "Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved" Or this amazing word in Matthew 11:28 spoken by Jesus, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"

And what about those burdens I collect due to sin "Let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:1-2

This weary little bee spoke deeply to my heart of the need to CAST my burden to the one who cares for me, to Lay aside those weights and sins that so easily slow me down and to FIX my eyes on the one who has the yoke that is easy and the burden that is light.

Join me this new year!?
