In the garden (part 3)
One day I went to my friend Rae Edlin's garden to photograph her lovely flowers. Toward the end of the amazing tour of the garden I saw out of the corner of my eye a wasp land on a plant. I snapped a quick shot and was blown away later when I viewed it. What I saw was a thirsty wasp drinking water. I never considered that a wasp would be thirsty, but there he was drinking deeply of the water collected for him in a leaf!

Water is something we all need! The human body is made up of an average of 70% water. Trees need water to produce green leaves and fruit, bugs need to drink, flowers need water and seeds can not even germinate without moisture.
In the Bible water is often a picture for the word of God. Psalms 1 states " How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scoffers! But his delight is in the Law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does will prosper."
The Word is life to your soul! God's Word when meditated on causes you to become firmly planted. Your "trust factor" rises as you meditate on His precepts. When the time of trial comes you do not wither away, but put your trust in God.
Jeremiah 17: 7-8 " Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is in the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit."
With your roots deeply secure, fear will not over take you. You'll be that tree in the drought full of green leaves and yielding fruit in its season. In these trouble times I implore you like the wasp who is a picture of drinking deeply from the water provided for him in the fold of a leaf, drink deeply of the Word of God, which he has provided for you!
